Vote Yes on Proposition 2: School Facility Improvements & Technology Upgrades Levy

Addressing serious needs of aged and deteriorating schools and facilities

  • Renovates or replaces 3 of the District's oldest and neediest schools.
  • The levy also funds district-wide school and facility improvements on roofs, energy-efficient heating/lighting, electrical, plumbing, playgrounds and playfields.

Cost to Homeowners

Prop 2 would raise $140.4 million over six years. The measure's average annual levy rate (over six years) is $1.03 per $1,000 of assessed home value. The average Tacoma homeowner would pay $5.74 more per month (or 19 cents per day) in 2011 compared to 2009.
